Due to the deteriorating security situation in Syria, the diplomatic staff of the Armenian Embassy in Damascus will temporarily operate from Beirut. The decision was announced by Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), citing the inability to ensure safe conditions in Damascus for the time being.
Last week, following the activation of a hotline at the embassy in Damascus, Armenian diplomats responded to inquiries related to entry visas to Armenia, passport issuance, and potential evacuation. However, the MFA noted that evacuation options are currently unavailable due to security risks.
Moving forward, communication with Armenian citizens will be maintained through the Armenian Embassy in Beirut. The hotline remains active at +9617447205 (mobile).
This temporary relocation underscores the challenging security environment in Syria and Armenia’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its diplomatic personnel and citizens.
