Hersheypark has officially closed its long-standing water ride, Tidal Force, following the conclusion of the park’s 2026 summer season. The attraction, which served as a centerpiece for the park’s nautical-themed “The Boardwalk” area, ceased operations permanently on September 8, 2026.
The park first signaled the impending closure in June, confirming that the ride would undergo a final “voyage” to mark its end after 32 years of service. According to Wide Open Country, the attraction was known for its 100-foot drop and a significant splash zone that historically drew large crowds of both riders and spectators.
As the park transitions to its autumn schedule, it is set to reopen on September 12 with its “Dark Nights” seasonal event. The removal of Tidal Force leaves a prominent vacancy within The Boardwalk, though the park has not yet announced specific plans for the site. Fan reactions have been mixed, with many expressing nostalgia for the ride’s history, while others have signaled a desire for modern, year-round replacements on the property.
