The violence was reportedly sparked by an audio recording that insulted the Prophet Muhammad, which Sunni militants attributed to a Druze cleric. The incident led to the deaths of more than a dozen people, with the violence spreading to Sahnaya on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, residents of Sahnaya reported sporadic clashes and intermittent attacks, highlighting the volatile situation on the ground.
