ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Philadelphia Phillies continued their late-summer momentum with a 4-2 victory in 10 innings over the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium on Saturday night, secured by a three-run rally in the final frame. According to game reports by Field Level Media, the victory marks Philadelphia’s 12th win in their last 14 games as they solidify their position in the Major League Baseball playoff race.
Philadelphia broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the 10th inning when Kyle Schwarber hit a go-ahead bloop double, driving in J.T. Realmuto. Trea Turner immediately expanded the lead with a two-run single to right field, bringing home pinch-runner Garrett Stubbs and Justin Crawford. Turner finished the night with two hits and two RBIs.
The late offensive push rewarded a strong pitching effort led by starter Cristopher Sanchez. The left-hander pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out eight batters and walking one. The performance gave Sanchez 202 strikeouts for the season, marking his second consecutive year reaching the 200-strikeout milestone.
