The Quebec government announced on June 12, 2026, a financial contribution of $448,000 to support the ongoing Les Francos de Montréal music festival. The event, which runs through June 20, remains a cornerstone for French-language music in North America, hosted primarily at the Quartier des spectacles.

Minister of Culture and Communications Mathieu Lacombe confirmed the funding, noting that the investment aims to bolster both local and international artists. According to the Ministry, the total public funding package is bolstered by contributions from multiple agencies, including the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles ($390,000), the Ministry of Tourism ($590,000), and the Secrétariat à la région métropolitaine ($500,000) under the Fonds signature métropole.

This year’s edition features a renewed focus on free programming, designed to increase accessibility for the general public and support the downtown core’s economic vitality. Beyond the main performances, the festival is hosting the 14th edition of ‘Rendez-vous Pros,’ an industry-focused component dedicated to the distribution and promotion of musical talent.

Minister Lacombe emphasized that the festival serves as an essential platform for cultural preservation, stating that the government’s support ensures a diverse lineup of established and emerging artists continues to perform in the heart of Montreal.
