Cloud-based accounting platform Xero officially launched its new “Ultra” subscription tier in Australia on July 11, 2026. Designed specifically for medium-sized enterprises, the plan aims to bridge the gap between standard accounting software and complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Priced at $500 per month including GST, the Ultra plan provides advanced capabilities, including multi-entity reporting, scenario modelling, and four-way cash flow forecasting via Syft Advanced. The offering also grants users priority access to Xero specialists, personalized onboarding, and the “Just Ask Xero” (JAX) AI-powered financial agent.

Angad Soin, Xero’s Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, stated that the platform is intended to support businesses as they navigate increased transaction volumes and structural complexity. “Australia’s scaling businesses are a vital part of this economy, and their needs are genuinely different,” Soin said. By providing these tools, Xero aims to allow accounting and bookkeeping practices to retain clients who might otherwise migrate to more complex, separate ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle.

Early beta user Damien Wragg, director of Trainwest, noted that the platform has effectively scaled alongside his company’s growth, avoiding the friction often associated with transitioning to new financial systems. The launch coincides with Xero’s broader strategy to integrate with Microsoft 365, reinforcing its position as a comprehensive software-as-a-service provider in the competitive accounting market.
