On December 10-11, representatives from the 145th Senior Course of the NATO Defense College, led by Lieutenant General Max Arthur Nielsen, visited Armenia. The visit focused on exploring opportunities and prospects for cooperation in the field of military education.
According to Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Nielsen was welcomed by the First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of developing military education and expanding collaborative efforts.
As part of the visit, representatives of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Security Council Office delivered presentations to the senior course students, offering insights into Armenia’s defense and security sectors.
On December 11, Lieutenant General Nielsen visited the National Defense Research University of Armenia, where he was briefed on the institution’s activities and ongoing programs.
The meetings concluded with discussions about potential areas of cooperation between the two defense education institutions, highlighting the value of such engagements in fostering the exchange of expertise and contributing to regional security and stability.
