Azerbaijan, continuing its aggressive policy aimed at the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage, has this time targeted the village of Mariamadzor in the Hadrut region of Artsakh. A photograph of the village, published on February 4th, testifies to the near-complete devastation of the settlement.
This fact once again underscores that Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh is in serious danger of destruction and appropriation. Azerbaijan, ignoring calls from the international community, continues its policy, which is aimed at completely erasing the Armenian trace from the territory of Artsakh.
It should be recalled that this is not the first case of the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage by Azerbaijan. Years ago, Azerbaijan destroyed the thousands-year-old cross-stones of Jugha at the state level and remained unpunished. The international community has repeatedly pointed out this act of vandalism, but Azerbaijan continues its destructive actions.
The vandalism against Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh is also recorded by international scientific centers, which is an important basis for bringing the Azerbaijani genocidal state before an international tribunal.
This issue is constantly in the focus of the international community, and international organizations regularly issue statements calling on Azerbaijan to stop the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage.
