Actor and architecture enthusiast Brad Pitt has officially joined the production team of Wim Wenders’ new documentary, From Inside Out — The Architecture of Peter Zumthor, serving as an executive producer. The project, which chronicles the career of the Pritzker Prize-winning Swiss architect, is set to make its debut next month at the Venice Film Festival.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary was filmed over a 14-year period. It explores a wide range of Zumthor’s designs, from his early residential projects in the Alps to his most significant recent undertaking: the new Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
Pitt’s involvement is rooted in his long-standing interest in architecture. He previously gained attention for his advocacy regarding the LACMA redesign, notably speaking at a 2019 Los Angeles County hearing that proved decisive in moving the project forward. The documentary will feature several of Zumthor’s seminal works, including the Therme Vals spa in Switzerland, the Kolumba Art Museum in Cologne, and the Bruder Klaus Chapel. It also covers the now-demolished Topography of Terror museum project.
