Toronto-based mineral exploration firm Cadillac Mines Corp. has announced plans for an initial public offering (IPO) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), aiming to raise up to C$363 million ($258 million). The offering is set to include common shares priced at C$6.90 and flow-through shares at C$9.52, according to recent filings.
Of the total proceeds, approximately C$190 million is earmarked for the company to fund its exploration activities, while existing shareholders intend to sell shares valued at roughly C$173 million. The IPO is backed by an underwriting syndicate led by Stifel Financial Corp., the National Bank of Canada, and the Bank of Montreal.
Cadillac Mines is primarily focused on the Kerr-Addison mine in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, a region historically responsible for over 200 million ounces of gold production. The Kerr-Addison site itself has yielded more than 10 million ounces of gold over its lifespan. To support this work, the company has secured a concurrent private placement of C$60 million from Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd.
The project maintains strong institutional backing. Agnico Eagle and Franco-Nevada Corp. are existing shareholders and hold royalty agreements with the firm, signed in 2023. Pierre Lassonde, co-founder of Franco-Nevada, serves as the chairman of Cadillac Mines. The company’s shares are expected to trade under the ticker symbol ‘CADY’.
This listing follows a broader trend of mining-focused IPOs in Canada, including recent entries such as Amapa Minerals Holdings Inc. and BG Gold Capital II Corp., as investors continue to seek exposure to precious metals amid global economic uncertainty.
