Cloudflare and the newsletter publishing platform beehiiv have announced a strategic partnership to integrate Cloudflare’s AI Crawl Control technology directly into the beehiiv dashboard. The move, announced on June 23, 2026, aims to provide independent creators and newsletter operators with granular control over how AI bots access and index their digital archives.
As AI-driven search and discovery tools become more prevalent, many creators face challenges regarding the unauthorized use of their intellectual property. This new integration simplifies the technical management of bot traffic, removing the need for manual robots.txt updates or complex firewall configurations. Users can now choose between two primary modes: enabling maximum discovery for AI search engines or blocking AI scrapers to preserve content for future monetization and licensing.
“This partnership is the next logical step in our mission, giving newsletter operators the transparency and control to navigate the AI era on their own terms,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare. According to beehiiv co-founder and CEO Tyler Denk, the collaboration provides creators with the necessary leverage to dictate how their writing is consumed within the AI ecosystem.
The feature set includes personalized analytics, allowing creators to view which AI bots are accessing their content and the referral traffic generated. Additionally, a one-click toggle allows for specific permission management, with automatic updates to ensure that new AI crawlers are identified as they emerge. The tools are rolling out to all beehiiv users today, with advanced blocking capabilities available to beehiiv Max customers.
