The SBS documentary The Hunt for the Last Nazis, produced by Mint Pictures, has secured international distribution across several European territories. According to TV Tonight, the film has been acquired by AMC Global Media Central Europe for broadcast in the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia, as well as by RTL Netherlands.
The documentary explores the historical controversy surrounding how hundreds of alleged Nazi war criminals were able to settle in Australia following World War II. The film focuses on the investigative efforts to bring these individuals to justice, relying on rare audio recordings, archival evidence, and witness testimony.
Dan Goldberg, Creative Director at Mint Pictures, stated that the project addresses a “confronting” chapter of Australian history, highlighting the tension between the pursuit of justice and the passage of time. The film originally aired on SBS last month as part of the Australia Uncovered series and remains available for viewing on SBS on Demand.
