A Final Chapter for Marvel’s Daredevil
Marvel Studios has confirmed that its streaming series Daredevil: Born Again will conclude following the release of its third season. The announcement, which arrived on September 23, 2026, marks the end of a long-running narrative arc for the character of Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk, portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio since the original Netflix Daredevil series premiered in 2015.
Vincent D’Onofrio addressed the news via X, expressing gratitude to the fanbase that has followed the character across multiple series, including Hawkeye and Echo. “We so enjoyed bringing Daredevil: Born Again to you all,” D’Onofrio wrote. “We have the final Season, season 3 heading your way next year with some very cool stuff… Off to another neck of the woods.” The final season is currently scheduled for a March 2027 debut on Disney+.
Leadership Changes and Production Status
While the third season has already completed filming, its post-production phase is proceeding without showrunner Dario Scardapane. According to IGN, Scardapane parted ways with the studio after his contract expired and was not renewed. The sudden departure of a showrunner during the final stages of post-production has sparked industry speculation regarding the oversight of the show’s concluding episodes, though Marvel has not provided further details on the transition.
Strategic Shifts at Marvel TV
The decision to cap Daredevil: Born Again at three seasons aligns with a broader trend of recalibration for Marvel’s streaming content on Disney+. As the studio shifts its focus toward upcoming projects like VisionQuest and other undisclosed titles, the conclusion of this series marks a transition point for the MCU’s street-level storytelling. The second season, which received critical praise for its balance of mature themes and action, has set a high bar, leaving fans to wonder how the final installment will resolve the long-standing conflict between Matt Murdock and Fisk.
