According to reports from the New Straits Times and The Star, the suspects arrived at the popular resort destination in a BMW. Armed with an axe and crowbars, the group smashed through display cases, successfully extracting five trays containing 81 pieces of jewellery and gold bars, with a total estimated value of RM1.7 million.
At the time of the robbery, which took place at 11:40 am, no security guards were present at the store. While two employees—a man and a woman—were on duty, they were unable to prevent the swift actions of the perpetrators. A third staff member was on a scheduled break when the incident occurred.
