Podcast Announcement and Pregnancy Details
Reality television personality Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, are expecting their seventh child. The Yahoo News report notes that the 33-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting star shared the news during an appearance on the Unplanned Podcast hosted by Matt and Abby Howard, with the full episode scheduled for release on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. In a video teaser published on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Jessa stated that she is currently six weeks along in the pregnancy, surprising the podcast hosts.
When co-host Matt Howard asked whether anyone else knew about the upcoming addition, Jessa replied, “We have six kids and we’re actually expecting again. Six weeks pregnant with number 7,” according to coverage from Us Weekly. Representatives for Jessa were reached for comment following the announcement.
Family Background and Previous Additions
Jessa and Ben Seewald were married in November 2014 when they were 21 and 19 years old, respectively. They are already parents to six children: sons Spurgeon Elliot, 10; Henry Wilberforce, 9; George Augustine, 2; and Edward Owen, 1; alongside daughters Ivy Jane, 7, and Fern Elliana, 5. Their sixth child, Edward Owen, was born in August 2025 following a seven-and-a-half-hour labor, an arrival documented through a series of birth vlogs shared on Jessa’s official YouTube channel that also captured her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, meeting their newborn grandchild.
The family’s television history traces back to TLC’s long-running series 19 Kids and Counting, which aired from 2008 to 2015 and documented the daily lives of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children within an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist congregation. While Jessa’s parents remain deeply tied to the community, she and her husband have adopted more relaxed practices in their own household.
Public Reaction and Family Comparisons
As her family has grown over the years, Jessa has frequently addressed public commentary and online reactions regarding her family size. In a May 2025 YouTube video titled “Baby #6 Q&A + My Morning Routine,” she spoke directly about online remarks comparing her trajectory to that of her mother.
“I’m not going to have 19 kids, but honestly, my mom is my hero. I love her, I adore her [and] she is my role model in so many ways,” Jessa said in the 2025 video, as reported by The News International. She noted that while she has encountered plenty of digital criticism, she has never experienced direct negative confrontations in public. During their recent podcast appearance, Ben Seewald also reflected on his early courtship days with Jessa under the observation of her father, Jim Bob Duggar, adding a lighthearted note about navigating the strict family dynamics.
