Logistics mogul Lindsay Fox has officially taken delivery of Australia’s first Airbus H160 helicopter, marking a significant milestone for both the billionaire’s private aviation portfolio and the local aviation market. The aircraft, registered as VH-FOX, was handed over on September 15, 2026, and is operated by Fox Helicopters Pty Ltd, an entity linked to the founder of the Linfox Group, according to Aero South Pacific.
The H160, which was prepared for service by the Queensland-based maintenance organization Pacific Crown Helicopters, features a custom eight-passenger configuration. While the model is certified to carry up to 12 passengers, the selection of a lower-density layout aligns with Fox’s stated intent to support the specific business and corporate aviation requirements of his extensive logistics and infrastructure holdings.
Technological and Environmental Stakes
The acquisition represents a departure from traditional medium-twin-engine platforms. Airbus highlights the H160 as one of the most technologically advanced helicopters currently on the market, offering improved situational awareness and a reduced workload for flight crews. Crucially for modern corporate operations, the aircraft is designed to be more fuel-efficient than its predecessors and is capable of operating on fuel blends containing up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
“This is a clear statement of our commitment to operating the most technologically advanced platform on the market,” Lindsay Fox stated following the delivery. The aircraft serves as a strategic addition to a fleet that already includes a Bombardier Global 6500 jet and a Leonardo AW169, further cementing the footprint of Fox’s aviation interests in the Asia-Pacific region.
Broadening Aviation Infrastructure
The integration of the H160 occurs against the backdrop of Fox’s wider aviation influence. Beyond private aircraft ownership, Fox’s companies maintain significant infrastructure stakes, including the ownership and operation of Avalon (AVV) and Essendon (MEB) airports. These facilities manage over 80,000 aircraft movements annually, positioning the logistics magnate as a central figure in Australian aviation logistics. The H160’s ability to navigate Australia’s varied terrain, as noted by Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President of Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, makes it a versatile tool for the company’s diverse operational needs.
