Australian independent women’s media group Mamamia has announced the appointment of Luca Lavigne as its new Chief Executive Officer. Lavigne, the son of co-founders Mia Freedman and Jason Lavigne, succeeds Natalie Harvey, who is stepping down to join Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) as Chief Revenue Officer.

Lavigne brings over a decade of experience within the organization, having served as both Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer for the past two years. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in the company’s strategic shift toward a dual advertising and subscriber model, while overseeing the expansion of its podcast network and the implementation of a video-first content strategy.

In a statement regarding the transition, Lavigne praised Harvey’s leadership, noting the “momentous change” the company has navigated under her direction. Harvey, who will remain with the company until early September to facilitate the handover, expressed confidence in her successor. “I’ve worked closely with Luca since the day I started here and watched him lead the biggest transformations in this business from the inside,” Harvey said.

The leadership change coincides with a broader restructuring of Mamamia’s commercial team announced in July. Lanai Wiadrowski has taken national responsibility for advertising and partnership revenue, while Danni Wright has moved into a leadership role for commercial strategy. Additionally, the company announced that Zara Curtis has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer, and Ruth Devine will serve as Content Director.
