In the book Regime Change, authors Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan documented the president remarking to staff, “All of you will go off and make money. She’ll never leave me.” Her loyalty was further highlighted during a high-stakes security incident in July 2026, when she was one of the few staff members chosen to travel with the president on a secret plane departing Turkey after U.S. intelligence identified a potential Iranian missile threat.
