Samuel Seow, a prominent figure in the Singaporean entertainment industry and the founder of the talent management agency Beam Artistes, passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 53. According to a statement released by a family friend and reported by The Straits Times, Seow died peacefully in his sleep in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The attending physician confirmed the cause of death as a heart attack.
Seow’s professional journey was multifaceted, beginning with a high-profile career as an entertainment lawyer. He gained industry recognition for representing prominent local celebrities, including singer Tanya Chua and actress Michelle Saram. In 2010, he transitioned into talent management and event consulting by founding Beam Artistes. Under his leadership, the agency became a central player in the local pageant circuit, organizing events such as Manhunt Singapore, Mr World Singapore, and Mister International.
The Professional Legacy
At its peak, Beam Artistes represented approximately 20 artistes, including notable names such as Ase Wang, Shane Pow, Jaymee Ong, and Paul Foster. Seow’s influence extended beyond talent representation, as he sought to build comprehensive talent ecosystems. His most recent project, the “Masters of the World 2026” competition, was scheduled to take place in September, though the future of this event and the agency remains uncertain following his death.
Seow’s career was also marked by significant legal and ethical challenges. In May 2022, he was officially disbarred after admitting to eight instances of professional misconduct before a disciplinary tribunal in 2019. These incidents occurred between March and April 2018 at his office and involved three female employees, including a lawyer who was his own niece. In October 2022, he was sentenced to four weeks in jail and fined $1,500 for assaulting his niece and using criminal force against another female employee.

Following the news of his passing, filmmaker Kelvin Sng, who considered Seow his godfather, paid tribute on Facebook. Sng, 52, acknowledged the complexity of Seow’s public and private life, stating, “Despite whatever that happened over the years, I choose to remember the good times and his goodness.”
