On January 16, 2025, a significant meeting of the border demarcation commission between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan took place, agreeing to initiate the next phase of border demarcation. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan of Armenia and Shahin Mustafayev of Azerbaijan.
The parties discussed the procedures for the demarcation work and agreed on the schedule and location for the next meeting. The commission plans to start the demarcation from the northern segments of the border and progressively move southward.
