Armenian Government Holds Meeting Amidst Prime Minister’s Absence

The Armenian Government convened its regular session on November 7, 2024, discussing various issues despite the Prime Minister’s absence. The meeting, with an agenda containing 40 items, was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister while the Prime Minister departed for Hungary on a working visit accompanied by his wife.

Although most agenda items were not discussed in detail, several key issues were highlighted, indicating the government’s focus on various sectors:

● Approval of draft laws “On Youth Policy,” amendments to the law “On Local Self-Government,” and amendments and changes to the law “On Local Self-Government in Yerevan City”.

● Nomination of a candidate for the position of Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission.

● Approval of tariff quotas for certain types of agricultural products imported into the Republic of Armenia, including import procedures and forms for one-time and general licenses.

● Approval of the proposal to sign a loan agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the OPEC Fund for International Development regarding the “Second Green, Resilient and Inclusive Development Policy Program,” among other matters.
