Global Celebrations and Strategic Partnerships
September 19, 2026, marks the annual celebration of Batman Day, a global event coordinated by DC Comics to honor the legacy of the Dark Knight. This year’s activations span multiple platforms, ranging from high-profile international comic collaborations to digital gaming updates and retail-focused incentives.
A significant highlight of this year’s announcement is the reveal of a formal collaboration between DC Comics and the long-running Japanese superhero franchise, Kamen Rider. According to Cosmic Book News, the project features a team-up between Batman and Kamen Rider Zero-One. The partnership, which includes an original comic and upcoming Bandai merchandise, represents a long-gestating creative ambition; the concept was first proposed in 1996 by Golden Age Batman artist Jerry Robinson and Kamen Rider creator Shotaro Ishinomori, though it remained unrealized until now.
Gaming and Digital Content
Digital engagement serves as a primary pillar for this year’s outreach. FunPlus has launched a limited-time event, “Echoes of the Batcave,” within the DC: Dark Legion mobile game, running through September 26, 2026. As reported by Get Your Comic On, the event introduces Dick Grayson’s Robin as a playable champion and includes interactive minigames and community-based rewards.
Additionally, players of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight can access new “Mayhem Mode” DLC items, such as Comic Rack and Jarro Batcave props, by linking their DC Universe Infinite accounts.
Retail Incentives and Collectibles
LEGO has implemented a tiered strategy to drive consumer engagement during the celebration. According to Brick Fanatics, the manufacturer is offering double “Insiders” points on select DC sets, providing a 10% cashback equivalent for members. While the 30726 Bruce Wayne and the Batsuit polybag promotion has concluded in the UK, it remains active in the US and Europe. Furthermore, the company has reintroduced the 40726 Limited-edition Batman Collectible via the Insiders Rewards Centre, requiring 3,000 points for redemption.
The celebration is rounded out by the release of the Batman of Two Worlds one-shot comic, which pairs mainline Batman stories with the “Absolute” Batman universe, alongside theatrical re-releases of films including Batman ’89 and The LEGO Batman Movie.
