Three-Decade Mystery Concludes

A Cork man who went missing more than three decades ago has been located deceased in another country, bringing a long-running missing persons case to a close. According to the Irish Examiner, Patrick ‘Patsy’ O’Sullivan was 35 years old when he vanished during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in April 1992. His family has been formally notified of the development, and An Garda Síochána has expressed gratitude to the public and the media for their decades of assistance.

Disappearance and Search History

Mr O’Sullivan was last seen by his relatives in Lombardstown, Mallow, before heading to work in County Kerry. Although his employment frequently required him to travel for weeks at a time, he had consistently maintained contact with his family and returned home periodically. Concern grew when he failed to arrive for a family Christening scheduled a few weeks after he was last seen.

Throughout the subsequent 34 years, collaborative efforts between An Garda Síochána and the O’Sullivan family maintained active inquiries into his whereabouts. The case was featured on national television broadcasts via RTÉ on multiple occasions, most recently last year when investigators and family members sought fresh public assistance regarding the long-term disappearance.
