Dogecoin (DOGE) has officially expanded its reach to the Solana blockchain through an integration powered by Wormhole’s Native Token Transfers (NTT) framework and the Sunrise liquidity gateway. According to a report by Pluang, this development allows for the native movement of DOGE across chains, encompassing the cryptocurrency’s entire $35 billion circulating supply.

Unlike traditional cross-chain bridges that rely on synthetic or “wrapped” assets—which often carry risks related to collateralization and custodial control—the NTT framework allows DOGE to maintain its original properties while operating within the Solana ecosystem. By utilizing Sunrise as a unified liquidity gateway, the integration assigns a single mint address for DOGE on Solana, a move designed to prevent the liquidity fragmentation that often plagues multi-chain token deployments.

The integration significantly expands the utility of Dogecoin, enabling its use within Solana’s decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, such as lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and yield-bearing platforms.
