Civilian Logistics Scaling

Wing, a subsidiary of Alphabet, and retail giant Walmart are expanding their drone delivery footprint to include Memphis, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Salt Lake City. This brings their total service reach to nearly 20 US markets. Heather Rivera, Wing’s Chief Business Officer, stated that the service has moved beyond a novelty, with customers utilizing drone delivery multiple times per week for rapid, 30-minute fulfillment.

Tactical Integration in Autonomous Platforms

In the defense and industrial sector, SteerAI has partnered with Elistair to mount tethered drones onto the xRift, an autonomous all-terrain vehicle. Unlike traditional battery-operated drones, the integration of Elistair’s Khronos system allows for persistent aerial surveillance and tactical communications via a physical micro-tether. Michael Sonderby, Acting CEO of SteerAI, noted that this capability provides clients with a “ready-to-deploy surveillance solution” for remote or unmapped environments.
