Square Enix has introduced a refined design for Tifa Lockhart in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, as seen in recent demo footage presented at the Tokyo Game Show 2026. Players and content creators noted a significant visual update to the character’s Black Mage class outfit compared to the initial reveal trailer shown at Summer Game Fest earlier this year.
As reported by Vice, the updated model features increased texture detail and a prominent zipper running down the center of the top. These adjustments appear to bring the character’s aesthetic closer to the detailed, complex style often associated with director Tetsuya Nomura’s work in the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 15 series. The general visual fidelity of the demo build also appears higher than the footage shared in June.
The change has sparked discussions regarding the game’s new FITS system—a mechanic that allows characters to adopt different classes and outfits. While Square Enix has not provided an official explanation for the design shift, some fans speculate that the FITS system may include dynamic outfit evolution, where costumes gain additional details or components as players progress through class levels. This theory remains unconfirmed by the publisher.
