The historic Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo has unveiled its latest renovation phase, introducing over 40 updated rooms in the Prince wing and the new Bar Gustave. According to reports from WWD, the hotel, which dates back to 1864, continues to modernize its facilities while preserving the architectural integrity of its Belle Époque identity, including the iconic glass-and-steel dome designed by Gustave Eiffel’s workshops.
The new bar, designed by interior architect Shirine Zirak, occupies the lobby and the Jardin d’Hiver terrace, maintaining the property’s original ceiling moldings and chandeliers while refreshing the furniture and lighting. This project is part of a broader investment strategy by Société des Bains de Mer (S.B.M.), the Monegasque company majority-owned by the state and the Grimaldi family.
Beyond the Hermitage, S.B.M. has expanded its summer offerings at the nearby Monte-Carlo Beach property. The beach club features a refreshed aesthetic for its second consecutive year, with a new blue-toned collaboration with designer Jacquemus. Additionally, Italian chef Simone Zanoni has launched the restaurant La Vigie Zanoni Monte-Carlo, marking a significant culinary addition to the peninsula’s dining portfolio for the 2026 season.
