Minnesota Twins player Josh Bell gestures to the crowd after hitting a home run

Quick Read

  • Josh Bell recorded his 13th career multi-homer game.
  • The Twins hit six home runs, a feat not achieved since 2023.
  • The Yankees have lost eight of their last nine games.
  • Brendan Beck allowed five runs in his MLB starting debut.

A Dominant Offensive Display

Josh Bell delivered a standout performance on Saturday, hitting home runs in consecutive at-bats to lead the Minnesota Twins to an 11-4 victory over the New York Yankees. The offensive barrage saw the Twins record six home runs in a single game for the first time since September 4, 2023.

The victory was built early, as Kody Clemens, Luke Keaschall, and Alex Jackson homered in the first two innings off Yankees starter Brendan Beck, who was making his big league debut. Trevor Larnach also contributed to the tally, helping the Twins build a commanding 6-0 lead.

Bell’s Late-Game Heroics

Bell provided the final separation for Minnesota. He connected for a solo shot to left field off Ryan Yarbrough in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 7-4. In the eighth, he capitalized on defensive struggles by the Yankees—who committed their 19th error in 14 games—to launch a second home run to right-center off Camilo Doval, sealing the 11-4 final score. This performance marked Bell’s 13th career multi-homer game.

Yankees’ Continued Struggles

The loss marks a difficult stretch for New York, which has now dropped eight of its last nine games. The team’s pitching staff struggled significantly, allowing six home runs for the first time since 2019. Despite home runs from Jasson Domínguez and Max Schuemann, the Yankees were unable to overcome the early deficit created by the Twins’ explosive lineup.

The Twins received a boost from the return of Byron Buxton, who contributed a sacrifice fly after missing four games due to a right hip impingement. Minnesota starter Zebby Matthews was forced to exit early in the fifth inning due to a right foot laceration, but the bullpen, led by Taylor Rogers, held the lead to secure the win.
