Quick Read

  • MacKenzie Scott has donated billion to non-profits since 2020.
  • Katie Miller claims these funds support groups that undermine existing social structures.
  • Elon Musk has echoed criticism regarding the impact of Scott’s philanthropy.

Katie Miller, a former adviser to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has publicly criticized billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott for her charitable giving strategies. In a recent post on X, Miller claimed that the $26 billion Scott has donated since 2020 has been funneled almost exclusively to organizations that promote progressive social agendas.

Miller specifically pointed to donations made to groups focused on gender equity, racial justice, and climate change, arguing that these contributions work to undermine the economic system that originally generated the wealth. The critique follows similar sentiments expressed by Elon Musk, who recently responded to a social media post suggesting that Scott’s philanthropic efforts were negatively impacting global society.

Since 2020, Scott’s organization, Yield Giving, has distributed funds to thousands of non-profits, including significant contributions to historically Black colleges and universities, Meals on Wheels America, and various LGBTQ advocacy groups. According to the latest rankings of America’s Top 25 Philanthropists, Scott currently holds the third position, trailing only Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates.
