Paramount+ has officially commenced principal photography on the third season of its hit oil-industry drama Landman in Fort Worth, Texas. The production kickoff arrives alongside significant ensemble updates, as four recurring actors have been elevated to series regulars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, the autumn filming schedule officially shifts the show’s expected streaming rollout past the current calendar year, pointing toward an extended hiatus for subscribers.
Cast Promotions and New Additions in Fort Worth
The studio confirmed promotions for Colm Feore, who plays Nathan; Mustafa Speaks, who portrays Theodore “Boss” Ramone; Bobbi Salvor Menuez as Paigyn Meester; and Francesca Xuereb as Cheyenne. All four performers appeared across earlier storylines and will now hold contracted regular status throughout the upcoming season. They join headliner Billy Bob Thornton, who stars as West Texas oil crisis manager Tommy Norris.
The returning ensemble also features Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, and James Jordan. Expanding the corporate drama, actor Michael Kelly enters the cast as series regular William Crockett, an executive overseeing the world’s largest oil management firm. Production activities are centering around Fort Worth and the nearby northern suburb of Haslet, per the Dallas Morning News, following local casting calls organized for background talent.
Revised Broadcast Horizon Extends into 2027
While the greenlight and production momentum signal uninterrupted corporate backing from Paramount+, the revised production timeline alters previous viewer expectations. Season 2 concluded its broadcast run on January 18, 2026, leading industry observers and audiences to speculate on a possible late-2026 return window. With principal photography launching in early autumn and slated to continue into early 2027, the network has reset expectations, making a 2026 debut unattainable due to standard post-production cycles.
The drama, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. While Sheridan is slated to transition future television development to NBCUniversal beginning in 2028, Landman remains firmly anchored in the Paramount+ pipeline. The narrative enters Season 3 following major plot shifts where Thornton’s character launched CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle following high-stakes negotiations with cartel boss Gallino, positioning the expanded core cast for elevated industrial and legal conflicts.
