  • Victor Munoz is doubtful for Sunday's match against Brighton due to a knock sustained against Brentford.
  • Bradley Barcola missed training on Thursday for load management but is expected to be available for the weekend.
  • Dominik Szoboszlai remains sidelined and has not yet resumed training with the group.

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has delivered a crucial squad fitness update ahead of Sunday’s Premier League encounter against Brighton & Hove Albion, addressing the availability of Victor Munoz, Bradley Barcola, and Dominik Szoboszlai, as reported by Liverpool FC.

The Reds could remain without Victor Munoz for the weekend fixture after the Spaniard sustained a knock during the first half away at Brentford last Saturday. Although he managed to finish that match, he continues to deal with lingering pain and missed the midweek Champions League victory over Villarreal as a result. Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Iraola addressed Munoz’s chances for Sunday, stating that it was still uncertain whether he would recover in time for the clash.

Bradley Barcola Available as Dominik Szoboszlai Remains Sidelined

In more positive news for the Merseyside club, forward Bradley Barcola is expected to be available for selection against Brighton. Barcola sat out training on Thursday due to load management precautions, but head coach Iraola confirmed on Friday that the player had returned to normal training without any issues. Iraola explained that sometimes players need to stay inside to manage their physical workload.

Meanwhile, midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai will definitely miss the weekend fixture. Szoboszlai was forced off during the match against Brentford and subsequently missed the Villarreal fixture. Iraola noted that while the midfielder is progressing well and has started training outside alone, he has not yet resumed group training. The coaching staff intends to exercise caution with his recovery following his recent setback.
