Baku regularly accuses Paris of “destabilizing the South Caucasus,” “unilateral approach and pro-Armenian position,” and “arming Armenia.” Yerevan and Paris counter that France only provides defensive equipment to Armenia.
Azerbaijan’s newly elected parliament will not establish ties with the French legislature, reports the “Turan” agency, citing a decision adopted by the foreign affairs committee in the Milli Majlis.
According to the media, the approved draft does not envisage the creation of a group for relations with the French parliament.
In the previous convocation of the Milli Majlis, cooperation with French legislators was terminated due to “Paris’s destructive position.”
At the beginning of the year, Paris recalled its ambassador to Azerbaijan for consultations, accusing Baku of “unilateral actions that have damaged relations between the two countries.”
