The 25-year-old American required just 77 minutes to dispatch the Italian, maintaining a perfect service record throughout the match.
Nakashima’s performance was defined by precision and composure. He recorded 11 aces, won 30 of 36 points on his first serve, and successfully defended all four break points he faced. This victory marks a significant advancement for the world number 28, who has now reached semifinals in three of the four tournaments he has contested since hiring former Top 10 player Wayne Ferreira as his coach in June.
