The 20-year-old Switzerland international, who has seen his stock rise following a standout performance at the World Cup, is expected to sign a long-term contract at St. James’ Park. This move comes as Newcastle navigates a period of transition, having recently confirmed the arrival of 18-year-old Ajax prospect Sean Steur for £23m, while managing the departure of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham.

Jannek Ringen, a content manager at Transfermarkt, describes Manzambi as a “classic box-to-box midfielder” whose physical and technical profile is ideally suited to the rigors of the Premier League. “He seeks out plenty of challenges and wins the majority of them; he is also capable of carrying the ball long distances up the pitch,” Ringen noted. While his defensive game remains a work in progress—highlighted by two red cards last season—his ability to contribute in the final third and his goal-scoring hunger make him a dynamic addition to Eddie Howe’s squad.
Comparing his playing style to that of Jude Bellingham or a younger Yaya Touré, analysts suggest that while Manzambi may require a brief settling-in period, his raw attributes offer high upside.
