Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo and legendary The Cure frontman Robert Smith have officially debuted their collaborative track, “What’s Wrong With Me.” The song, which marks Rodrigo’s first-ever original feature outside of soundtrack work, was unveiled live at the Primavera Sound festival, signaling a significant cross-generational bridge in modern music.
The track is set to appear on Rodrigo’s third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, scheduled for release on June 12, 2026. The collaboration arrives as Rodrigo continues to pay homage to the alternative rock influences that shaped her musical identity.

The connection between the two artists carries a deep personal significance. In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rodrigo revealed that her father, a “diehard” fan of The Cure, was visibly moved to tears upon meeting Smith backstage at Primavera Sound. For Rodrigo, Smith’s music has been a lifelong companion, an influence she has explicitly integrated into her new work, including references to the band in her singles “Drop Dead” and “The Cure.”

Beyond the collaboration, Robert Smith and The Cure remain in a period of intense creative output. Smith confirmed that the band has completed the second record in a planned three-album series, following the success of their 2024 chart-topper Songs of a Lost World.
