Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez arrived in Yerevan on May 4 to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community (EPC), following an unexpected delay caused by a technical fault in his government aircraft. The Airbus A310 carrying the Prime Minister was forced to make an emergency landing in Ankara, Turkey, on May 3. While the Spanish official news agency EFE, citing government sources, characterized the malfunction as minor, the mandatory safety protocols required the delegation to spend the night in the Turkish capital before continuing their journey to Armenia.
