Sony has officially unveiled the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup for April 2026, headlined by the intense Soulslike action-RPG Lords of the Fallen and the nostalgia-driven Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection. These titles will be available for subscribers across all tiers starting April 7, with the window to claim them in personal libraries extending through May 4.
Expanding the PS Plus Catalog with New Additions
The addition of Lords of the Fallen is strategically timed, arriving as developer Hexworks and publisher CI Games prepare for a sequel slated for release later in 2026. The 2023 title offers players a complex dual-world mechanic, where the realm of the living and the dead exist simultaneously. Alongside this, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered provides a modernized look at Lara Croft’s foundational adventures, developed by Aspyr. The collection allows users to toggle between enhanced visuals and the original 1990s polygonal aesthetics, offering a refined experience for both returning fans and newcomers.
Rounding out the trio is Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, a co-op raid battle title for the PlayStation 5. This game emphasizes large-scale multiplayer action, allowing up to 20 players to participate in coordinated raids, further diversifying the genres present in this month’s update.
Managing the Subscription Library and Departures
While the monthly additions provide new content, subscribers must also account for the rotating nature of the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog. A significant list of titles is scheduled to depart the service on April 21, 2026. This exit list includes notable games such as Dave the Diver, EA Sports PGA Tour, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. Unlike the monthly Essential titles, which remain accessible as long as the subscription is active, games leaving the Extra tier will no longer be playable through the service once they are removed.
The timing of these changes reflects Sony’s ongoing effort to balance the influx of new, high-profile releases with the inevitable expiration of licensing agreements for its broader game catalog, forcing subscribers to prioritize their play-time as the April 21 departure date approaches.
