A Singaporean buyer, identified as Jennifer Tzelee Teo, has finalized the purchase of the historic “Round House” located at 14 Shek O Road in Hong Kong for HK$562.6 million (approximately US$72 million). According to Land Registry records, the transaction follows a sale and purchase agreement signed on May 11, 2026.
The property, which dates back to the 1930s, was previously owned by the estate of the late Anne Marden, widow of former Wheelock & Co. chairman John Marden. The sale reflects a price of approximately HK$91,000 per square foot for the 6,163-square-foot residence.
Shek O remains one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive residential enclaves, counting prominent figures such as PCCW chairman Richard Li Tzar-kai and Tencent Holdings CEO Pony Ma Huateng among its residents. Unlike standard real estate transactions, entry into this community often requires an informal vetting process. Alan Li, a property agent at Habitat Property, noted that prospective buyers typically face an approval process where existing community members may object to new arrivals, placing a premium on social consensus alongside financial capacity.
