According to the Sparks Police Department, the incident began shortly before 9:30 a.m. when officers were called to a shooting scene on Kleppe Lane.

Following the initial encounter, the individual involved fled the scene in a vehicle, initiating a police pursuit. The chase concluded when the vehicle crashed near the intersection of McCarran Boulevard and Victorian Avenue. Sparks police confirmed that the individual was taken into custody following the collision, though their current medical status remains undisclosed.

The incident drew a substantial multi-agency response, including the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, which has assumed the role of the lead investigating agency, and the Reno Police Department acting in a secondary capacity.
