  • Starbucks launched a 10-piece ‘Peanuts’ collection on Sept. 15 for the 60th anniversary of the ‘Great Pumpkin’ special.
  • The Snoopy Glass Cold Cup costs .95 and is limited to two per customer in-store.
  • Online inventory for most items sold out within hours of the launch.
  • The collection is available globally, including in the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific markets.

A Strategic Seasonal Release

Starbucks has officially launched its global “Peanuts” merchandise collection, a limited-edition collaboration timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the classic holiday special, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” The collection, which debuted on September 15, features 10 distinct items, including drinkware, apparel, and accessories, according to a corporate release from USA TODAY.

The centerpiece of the launch is the Snoopy Glass Cold Cup, a 20-ounce vessel designed to mirror the likeness of the famous beagle. The cup features Snoopy wearing a seasonal green scarf and an orange beanie-shaped lid, complete with a Woodstock straw topper. The item carries a retail price of $39.95, with Starbucks enforcing a strict limit of two units per customer to manage high demand, as reported by NH Register.

Market Context and Consumer Demand

The collection follows a successful trend of “Bearista” cups that previously went viral on social media platforms. Dana Pellicano, senior vice president of global product experience at Starbucks, described the collaboration as a union of “enduring signs that fall has arrived.” The items are available in participating Starbucks locations across the United States, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Beyond physical merchandise, the company is leveraging its digital ecosystem to drive engagement. In the United States, the Starbucks app now features two “secret menu” items: the Charlie Brown Mocha Frappuccino and the Snoopy Cookie Frappuccino. Comparable localized beverage launches have been implemented in Latin American and Caribbean markets to further integrate the product drop into the customer experience.

Limited Inventory and Retail Strategy

Retail analysts note that the rapid depletion of online inventory reflects the brand’s focus on “scarcity marketing.” On the morning of the launch, most items available on the official Starbucks Shop were already listed as sold out, underscoring the high interest among collectors. The Snoopy Glass Cold Cup remains an in-store exclusive, a tactic designed to drive foot traffic into physical coffeehouses while supplies last.
