A New Musical Chapter
Pop artist Troye Sivan has officially commenced the cycle for his fourth studio album, She’s the Best, with the release of the title track on August 13, 2026. The single, which serves as an intimate portrait of the women in Sivan’s life, arrives alongside a high-profile music video co-starring Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman.
The track was written and produced through a collaborative effort involving Sivan, Jack Antonoff, Leland, Styalz Fuego, and George Daniel, the drummer for The 1975. Notably, the song features a secret vocal cameo from Charli XCX, Sivan’s frequent collaborator and touring partner. Sivan noted that including Charli XCX was a meaningful choice for both him and Daniel, given their deep personal and professional history with the artist.
Artistic Inspiration and Collaboration
Sivan describes the song as a departure from his previous work, marking the first time he has focused his songwriting on the feminine influence in his life rather than self-analysis or romantic relationships with men. “The one thing that has been constant in my whole life is the women in my life, and the feminine people in my life,” Sivan told Rolling Stone. He characterizes the album as a “collage” of these experiences, blending high-octane energy with moments of deep, internal reflection.
The music video, directed by Gordon Von Steiner, features a club setting populated by iconic figures, including drag artist Sasha Colby. The inclusion of Nicole Kidman marks a continued professional relationship between the actress and the singer, who first met on the set of the 2018 film Boy Erased. Sivan recounted a moment where he received a surprise call from Kidman while in a meeting, confirming her involvement in the project.
Looking Toward October
The upcoming album, set for release on October 9, 2026, follows Sivan’s 2023 project Something to Give Each Other. As Sivan prepares for the wider release, the music industry is closely watching how this new “bombastic” yet “troubled” sound will be received by his global audience. With the promotional momentum provided by the Kidman-led visual and the Charli XCX feature, the project appears positioned as a significant milestone in his career.
