While Jolie has the financial means to move immediately, she has expressed a preference to finalize the sale of the mansion, which she purchased for approximately $25 million in 2017, to fully “close that chapter” of her life.
The luxury real estate market in Los Angeles has been sluggish, contributing to the delay. However, insiders suggest that her commitment to leaving remains firm. Beyond her focus on Cambodia, Jolie plans to maintain a presence in New York City, where she continues to oversee her creative and fashion venture, Atelier Jolie.

While the divorce between Jolie and Pitt was finalized in 2024, disputes regarding shared assets, including the Château Miraval winery, remain ongoing.
