Defense Industrial Expansion

Voyager Technologies is scaling its defense production capabilities in Pueblo, Colorado, as part of a $280 million initiative to support U.S. missile defense and tactical munitions. Chairman and CEO Dylan Taylor stated that the expansion at the former Pueblo Army Depot utilizes existing infrastructure to meet Pentagon demands for the ‘Golden Dome’ integrated air and missile defense initiative.

The company is also deepening its footprint in the space sector. Following a multi-million-dollar investment in Miami-based Max Space, Voyager is advancing research into expandable lunar habitats. These efforts coincide with a broader push to establish a permanent lunar presence by 2028, supported by recent facility expansions in Denver and Long Beach, California.

Severe Weather and Public Safety

While industry grows, Colorado faces immediate environmental challenges. On June 8, 2026, the National Weather Service in Boulder issued multiple tornado warnings and watches across the Denver metro area and the Eastern Plains. The severe weather system, characterized by high winds and large hail, led to significant ground delays and cancellations at Denver International Airport.

Separately, local authorities are addressing a series of water-related fatalities. Three children died in apparent drownings across Colorado within the first week of June. The YMCA of Metro Denver has responded by promoting ‘Water Watcher’ safety programs and emphasizing the risks associated with the state’s cold, fast-moving natural waterways.
