Promotion Details and Eligibility

DBS has officially brought back its popular $3 cashback incentive for PayLah! users, aiming to drive foot traffic to heartland retail stores, hawker centres, kopitiams, and wet markets. The promotion commences on August 29, 2026, and will recur every Saturday until December 19, 2026. Over the course of these 17 Saturdays, eligible users have the potential to accumulate up to $51 in total cashback.

To participate, users must make a purchase at any of the over 14,000 participating merchants and pay using the DBS PayLah! QR code. The cashback amount is equal to the transaction value, capped at $3 per transaction. For instance, a $1.80 purchase yields $1.80 in cashback, while any purchase of $3 or more results in a $3 credit.

Managing Redemptions

DBS has set a limit of 160,000 redemptions per Saturday. Given the high demand observed in previous iterations of this program, where redemptions were often exhausted by lunchtime, the bank encourages users to participate early in the day. The promotion begins at 6am each Saturday.

Users can verify their status within the PayLah! app. If the weekly quota of 160,000 redemptions is reached, a “fully redeemed” banner will appear in the application, providing immediate clarity. Eligibility can be confirmed by looking for official signage at merchant locations: either the blue “POSB supports our heartland shops” sticker or the red “Scan to pay with DBS PayLah!” sticker. A complete directory of eligible merchants is available on the official DBS website for those who wish to verify participation before visiting.

Support for Heartland Economies

The initiative is designed to bolster neighborhood businesses by incentivizing digital payment adoption. DBS emphasizes that the cashback funds are provided directly by the bank, ensuring that the participating merchants do not face a reduction in their earnings. By encouraging residents to explore local eateries and shops, the program seeks to foster long-term customer relationships between residents and their neighborhood retailers.
