Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II officially brought his signature “Sexy Dexy” dance to Paycor Stadium on Sunday, performing the routine during pregame introductions for the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The performance, which has become synonymous with the defensive lineman, served as his formal introduction to the Cincinnati home crowd in a regular-season capacity.
The Bengals organization highlighted the moment on social media, sharing video of the entrance with the caption, “Get sexy, Cincinnati.” Lawrence had previously teased the debut during the team’s preseason opener against Detroit in August. When asked by sideline reporter Joe Danneman at that time if he planned to perform the celebration during the regular season opener, Lawrence confirmed his intentions, stating, “That’s the plan, that’s the plan. Saving it for showtime.”
Focus on Team Culture
Beyond the viral nature of the dance, Lawrence has emphasized that his goal is to cultivate a positive atmosphere within the locker room. During his preseason interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Lawrence noted the frequency with which fans request the dance, joking that it happens “every time I see them.”
“Every day I just want to bring joy,” Lawrence said. “I love playing football. I love doing this. I love being out here with the guys and competing. Why not? Why not have joy? That’s how we’re supposed to live.”

Lawrence’s debut coincided with a significant victory for the Bengals, who defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 33-27. The Cincinnati defense proved instrumental in the win, forcing four turnovers—the team’s highest impact since 2022.
