Expanded Charges and Legal Developments
Maris Nichols, a 25-year-old former science teacher at Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia, is facing a significant escalation in legal proceedings. According to court documents released on June 18, 2026, Nichols has been re-arrested and now faces 11 additional charges, including child molestation, evidence tampering, and grooming involving five students. This follows her initial arrest last month on charges of sexual assault by a person with supervisory authority.
Allegations of Student Blackmail
The investigation, led by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, has uncovered a complex web of misconduct. Investigators report that students discovered Nichols’ OnlyFans account and allegedly used the information to blackmail her, demanding better grades in exchange for their silence. The warrants indicate that footage of sexual encounters—including one instance where Nichols was recorded wearing a sweater reading “Jesus Loves You”—circulated among the student body.
Evidence and Investigation Scope
Authorities have served over a dozen warrants to entities including Snapchat, OnlyFans, and AT&T to track the digital footprint of the alleged encounters. The scope of the investigation now spans multiple locations, including a classroom closet, a parked vehicle, and a local golf course. Investigators are currently seeking surveillance footage and genetic evidence to corroborate claims involving six students in total. Nichols is also accused of pressuring students to delete communications immediately preceding her initial arrest, leading to the additional charge of evidence tampering.
