DENVER, N.C. (Azat TV) – Long before Jaxon Dollar secured his status as North Carolina’s premier Class of 2027 college football prospect, his foundation was built on the sidelines of East Lincoln High School. Growing up watching his older brothers, Cameron and Sidney Dollar, compete at a high level, the younger Dollar absorbed the work ethic and discipline required to excel in elite sports.
Dollar’s rise has been marked by early recognition. As a six-year-old serving as a ball boy for the Mustangs, he caught the eye of future NFL linebacker Chazz Surratt, who famously predicted Dollar would become the “next big thing.” Now, that prophecy is reality. Ranked as the state’s No. 1 prospect, Dollar has committed to the University of Georgia, a powerhouse in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Versatility on the Gridiron
East Lincoln head coach David Lubowicz, now in his 20th year with the program, notes that Dollar’s impact is felt in every phase of the game. “He’s the highest rated,” Lubowicz said, acknowledging the school’s history of producing NFL talent like the Surratt brothers and Major Leaguer Alec Burleson. “He can do so much on both sides of the ball that it’s hard to not have him on the field.”
A recent 26-24 victory over Providence served as a masterclass in his versatility: nine catches for 185 yards, a touchdown, two sacks, an interception returned for a score, and a 58-yard fake-punt run to seal the game. His 6-foot-5, 235-pound frame makes him a physical mismatch, forcing coaching staffs to manage his snaps to keep him fresh for high-leverage moments.
Looking Toward the Future
While basketball was once his primary focus—evidenced by his 1,111 career points—Dollar has shifted his full attention to football. His decision to bypass his senior basketball season to focus on his collegiate transition underscores the intensity of his commitment. Despite the pressure of his top ranking, Dollar remains grounded. “Knowing that people are looking up to me makes me want to be a role model,” he noted. As he prepares to join the Bulldogs, the East Lincoln community looks back at a developmental arc shaped by a rich tradition of multi-sport athletes and family guidance.
