Creative director Jonathan Anderson unveiled his spring 2027 womenswear collection for Christian Dior in the Tuileries gardens, delivering a lighter, more romantic vision for the historic luxury house while unseasonal high temperatures tested attendees, according to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).

Set against a misty backdrop of trees rising from a fog-shrouded pond, the presentation offered a sharp contrast to the heavier architectural volumes of Anderson’s debut collection a year prior. Guests, including K-pop star Jisoo, struggled with a freak heatwave inside the venue, with one attendee requiring medical assistance—an occurrence that echoed similar weather strains during the March shows and underscored the growing climate pressures facing the global fashion industry (WWD).

Lightening the Brand’s Heritage

Having spent the past twelve months refining his approach to the French fashion house’s codes, Anderson moved away from cumbersome pannier skirts and cage-like box constructions. Instead, the spring 2027 lineup embraced romance through waterfall skirts, jackets assembled from hundreds of hand-dyed petals, and updated corolla shapes pairing stiffer pleated pepums with gauzy underlayers (WWD).

“I wanted to land on a vibe,” Anderson told WWD backstage, describing his intent to remove the oppressive heaviness of heritage from the brand. He leaned further into his concept of “broken aristocracy,” sending out shawl-collared bed jackets lined with shearling alongside python-effect metallic trousers borrowed from menswear (WWD).

Front Row Beauty and Celebrity Focus

Among the high-profile front row attendees, house ambassador Jennifer Lawrence drew considerable attention by debuting a freshly trimmed, piecey fringe styled by Matthew Sosnowski (Vogue). Lawrence paired her new haircut with a pale blue embroidered lace slip dress featuring a dropped waist, complemented by a matching Lady bag and bow-topped mules (Vogue).

On the runway, hair stylist Guido Palau complemented Anderson’s romantic garments with salty, surfer-inflected textures, while makeup artist Peter Philips maintained luminous complexions accented by delicate silver flashes around the eyes (Vogue). Reflecting on his ongoing evolution at the historic atelier, Anderson emphasized patience in couture design. “If you’ve already arrived, then there’s nowhere to go,” he told WWD.
