A Major Boost for Salford City

Salford City have officially confirmed the signing of striker Macaulay Langstaff from Millwall for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old forward arrives at the League Two club with a clear mandate: to spearhead their promotion push for the upcoming season.

Reports indicate that the transfer fee allows Millwall to recoup the investment they made when signing the striker from Notts County two years ago. During his time at The Den, Langstaff made 75 appearances, contributing five goals and three assists. His tenure in the Championship included notable performances, such as a crucial winner at Carrow Road and a late equalizer against Leicester City.

Ambition and ‘No-Brainer’ Decision

Langstaff, who previously set prolific scoring records at Notts County, cited the club’s leadership as a decisive factor in his move. Speaking to the official club website, the striker described the transfer as a “no-brainer” after engaging in discussions with the ownership.

“When you get on the phone to people who have been really successful in this industry and others, you realize how ambitious they are and it is motivating,” Langstaff stated. “Those phone calls with the owners attracted me to the football club. Then you speak to the people around the club—the manager, the playing staff—they speak about how good of a club it is, and how well-run it is.”

With a career trajectory that includes significant success in the National League and League Two, Langstaff is eager to bring his experience to the Ammies. “It’s what we’re all in football for: to be successful and win promotions,” he added. “I’ve been at this level before, and I’ve got more experience now. I want to be successful with Salford City.”
