Metallica is set to revisit its late-90s catalog with the upcoming release of a comprehensive remastered edition of the 1997 album ReLoad. Arriving June 26 via Blackened Recordings, the project arrives as the band prepares for its 30th anniversary, offering fans a look into the creative process that defined the era.
Originally released on November 18, 1997, ReLoad debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and remained a chart fixture for 80 weeks. The remastered version, overseen by longtime collaborator Greg Fidelman and engineer Reuben Cohen, will be available in multiple formats, including vinyl, CD, cassette, and Dolby Atmos. The deluxe box set is particularly expansive, featuring 15 CDs containing demos, riff tapes, rough mixes, and live recordings, alongside four DVDs capturing studio sessions and historical concert footage.

The archival release serves as a strategic bridge between the band’s legacy and its current high-intensity touring cycle. As of mid-June 2026, the group is actively engaged in the European leg of their M72 World Tour. Simultaneously, the band is finalizing preparations for a high-profile residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, scheduled to commence on October 1.
